I will say that there’s a bit of a wait when it’s busy but they have seating in the lobby area and we were seated in 5 to 10 minutes.
I first learned about Lion’s Pride under not so good circumstances. - My coworkers and I went here for brunch after supporting a coworker dealing with a family emergency. However, the food was great, and the service was good too even though the place was busy.
Since then, I’ve been back three times, twice with dates/my partner and once alone when I had a pancake craving. All three times have been solid. My favorite is probably the pancakes (they’re quite large) but I had the omelette yesterday and loved it.
I'm from Florida, but whenever I visit family in Pennsylvania, Lion's Pride is a must-visit! You simply can't beat the service, the prices, and - of course - the food! I always get a croissant stuffer and a mug of hot coffee!
Used to go here all of the time and came back today after a hiatus. They reduced all of their portions almost in half and kept the prices the same. I paid $12 for 2 ounces of mac and cheese. It took an hour for our food to come and the waitress/cook staff messed up every single persons order at our table. Now that's just impressive. This restaurant is so inconsistent. If you look at my plate in relation to the fork, you'll see that pool of grease wasn't worth $12. Go next door the the Great American Saloon. Now that place is AMAZING.
Within the last two weeks I find it funny how a co-worker and his whole family ate chicken here and that same night they were all puking into whole next day. My wife and I decided to go Friday Dec 22 because we have eaten there many many times and always loved their food. Guess what? The wife had the chicken marsala and was up at 2am puking until 12 noon and then the runs set in the rest of the day. On Sunday morning I went to speak to the manager about this serious situation and was told their kitchen was very clean and it couldn't have been their food. Really?? I feel she could have been a little more concerned for her patrons and felt like she was a little rude about it. I can say after eating at this place for the last twenty years It was the last for me. Was it the flu? Really? People just please beware.
Pricing IMO is pretty reasonable considering just how much you get.
I can’t say anything about lunch and dinner but the breakfast is legit.
Great service, I had chefs salad w/extra grilled chicken & regular way... Mmmmm w/ honey mustard dressing... & The ROLLS had just come out of the oven... Mmmmmm
